I am a general dentist that focuses on airway and total body wellness keeping the mind, body and spirit in the forefront. Airway Dentistry is a new and growing field that focuses on the structure of the mouth and how it impacts your breathing, sleep and overall quality of life. Airway Dentists look for risk factors like tooth wear, the position of your tongue, and the condition of the soft tissue in your mouth which may indicate sleep-disordered breathing. The goal is to identify patients with early signs of sleep disordered breathing especially in our smallest patients and help prevent the end stage epidemic of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is correlated diseases like high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, mood disorders, dementia. Airways Dentists work in conjunction with a support team consisting of sleep physicians, Ear, Nose and Throat physicians, myofunctional therapists, orthodontists and oral surgeons.
